About the Engine
Stories on Worldspring may be written by a worldbuilder, composed with readers, or prepared with the Engine. In every case, they begin with a world authored by a person.
The source of truth
The model writes inside a world it did not invent
Worldbuilders establish the people, places, relationships, rules, story shapes, and source material that belong to their world. The Engine receives the relevant parts of that record as context when it helps develop an entity, interpret a participant's action, or compose a passage.
Suggestions are not canon. Proposed material remains subject to the worldbuilder's review, and a collaborative session remains apocryphal unless its worldbuilder chooses otherwise.
What it does today
Different work calls for different kinds of assistance
- Suggest: offer candidate entities, fields, or next steps without making the decision.
- Extract: turn source prose into structured, reviewable world material.
- Expand: add detail to an existing entity or story scaffold.
- Interpret and compose: ground participant input in a world and weave committed contributions into a shared telling.
Disclosure
The method is part of the work
We do not hide the Engine behind a false claim of solitary authorship. As publication features mature, each telling's provenance and colophon will state how people and models participated in making it.
