Read eight short passages. For each one, decide whether a person wrote it, a language model wrote it, or the two of them wrote it together.
How the three classes differ
- Human
- Written entirely by a person. No LLM generation, rewriting, or suggestion beyond spellcheck.
- Machine
- Generated by a language model from a short prompt (≤ ~2 sentences), published with no or trivial human edits.
- Assisted
- Meaningful contribution from both humans and machines. Process notes must say which way it went: a human draft revised with a model, or a model draft rewritten by a human.
